Finding your own creative drawing style is a process that can only be achieved through practice. When sketching becomes a constant habit, creativity unfolds naturally, opening up a multitude of possibilities that can be used in final illustrations.

Keeping a sketchbook has played an important role in Mattias’ creative process throughout his career as an illustrator. His long list of clients includes magazines like The New Yorker, The Hollywood Reporter, and New York Times, along with animation studios such as Nickelodeon, Dreamworks, and Disney.

In this course, Mattias Adolfsson shows you the process of transforming your doodles into art. He goes through the initial steps to start sketching and liberate the hand, to learn new creative methods starting with real objects, and to develop your imagination.

  • Un muy buen curso. Me sirvió para soltarme más a la hora de dibujar y no quedarme pensando en todos los detalles que creía que eran relevantes.

  • I enjoyed the course so far. But I'm not finished. I took my time, watched each segment several times, practiced a lot, and met my self-commitment to work on it every day. I learned a lot and while going through my sketchbook, I was surprised and impressed with my accomplishments. Mr. Adolfsson was clear, supportive, interesting, very talented, and knowledgeable. One suggestion. When he shows his work, allow more opportunities for participants to see his work. His hands were often in the way.

  • I am truly grateful for the amount of knowledge I have gained here. Isometries pose a bit of a challenge for me, but I am aware that practice makes perfect. Overall, I can definitely recommend the course – especially if you diligently do your homework!
